The Russian
President Vladimir Putin has raised concerns about intensive shellings of
Donbass by Ukrainian troops in telephone talks with German Chancellor Angela
Merkel and French President Francois Hollande, stated the Kremlin press
service.
The Russian
president noted that there are no alternative to political and diplomatic
settlement of the conflict in Donbass in accordance with provisions agreed in
the Minsk package of measures. The common approach was confirmed to boost
negotiations efforts on the Ukrainian issues, first of all in the ‘Normandy
format’ (Russia, Germany, France, Ukraine) and
in the framework of the Contact
Group, the Kremlin said.
The sides
stressed the importance of complete and comprehensive implementation of the
Minsk Agreements and of preventing the situation from deteriorating.
The
previous talks of Putin, Merkel and Hollande were held on July 8. Putin
then noted provocations staged by Ukrainian forces in Donbass.
In this regard,
the Russian president urged his partners to more actively influence the
Ukrainian side, the Kremlin press service said.

The situation
in the Donetsk People's Republic remains tense.
Despite the planned negotiations of the Contact group in Minsk today, on July 13, with the aim of disrupting the scheduled elections in the People's Republics, over the past day, the Ukrainian military shelled the territory of the Republic three hundred twenty-four times. The enemy launched fifteen 122mm artillery shells, seventy-nine 120mm mortar shells and a hundred twenty-five 82mm mortar shells. In addition, the enemy used in shelling infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms.
The war criminals continue to shell the localities of the Republic, such as Zaytsevo, Yasinovataya, Staromikhaylovka, Alexandrovka, Dokuchaevsk, Sakhanka, Kominternovo, the Petrovsky district and the airport of Donetsk city.
As a result of the bombardments, the DPR People's Militia lost two soldiers killed and another two wounded.
The AFU mortar bombardments also resulted in casualties among the civilians:
- In the locality of Staromikhaylovka, there was killed one civilian, Ruslan Denichenko born in 1974;
- In the Petrovsky district of Donetsk city, there were wounded two women, Lubov Astroverkhova born in 1957 and Tatyana Lisovskaya born in 1958.
There was also damaged the Trudovskaya mine and forty-four households. In the localities Staromikhaylovka and Zaytsevo, as well as in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk city, six streets were left without electricity, and in another three streets a gas pipeline was damaged.
The orders to shell the territory of the Republic were given by the Ukrainian "heroes" Zubanich, Ryabokon, Vodolazsky, Gorbatyuk, Delyatitsky, Voylokov and Zabolotny.

Our
intelligence found that in the location of the 1st battalion of the 30th
separate mechanised brigade arrived a commission headed by the brigade
commander Colonel Yakubov, to conduct the proceedings in an unauthorized
reconnaissance mission near the locality of Novotroitsk, which had
caused the battalion losses of seven men killed. Also, the commission
will carry out the reconnaissance of the area to determine the places where
they will have more checkpoints with the SBU staff located there.
There are
continuing mutual skirmishes between units of the 36th separate Marine brigade
of the AFU and the nationalists, who are situated in the location of Shirokino.
In particular, as a result of another "friendly" fire, there was
seriously wounded one Marine who was hospitalized in critical condition.
This fact is carefully concealed by the command from their superiors.
All the actions
carried out by Ukraine towards the Republic are directed only at the escalation
of the conflict, rather than at a peaceful settlement of the issue. Even the
scheduled meeting of the Contact group in Minsk has not stopped the Ukrainian
military authorities from continuing, without any consideration for the entire
world, their atrocities aimed at the elimination of the people of Donbass.

This year, the
traditional Ukrainian-US naval exercises "Sea Breeze 2016" have
greatly expanded their geography and will take place in the north-western part
of the Black Sea, in the Odessa and Nikolaev regions.
It is stated on
the page of the Navy of Ukraine in a social network.
‘The Naval Forces
of Ukraine have completed the main preparations for the Ukrainian-American
exercises "Sea Breeze 2016", scheduled to take place on 18-30 July.
Foreign participants are arriving In Odessa and other places of the exercises,
jobs and the onshore camp of the field component are unfolding. In Odessa and
on the ground in the Nikolaev region are continuing training courses with the
participation of foreign instructors, namely on planning operations and
leadership, a theoretical course of the process of planning an operation to
NATO standards, and a course on medical assistance in combat. Ships of the
Naval Forces of Ukraine have carried out the control exits at sea in order to
verify their technical readiness,’ said the statement.
It is reported
that, in addition to the naval exercises with the participation of more than 25
ships, boats and support vessels from Ukraine, the USA, Turkey and Romania, a
range of activities of the onshore component of the exercises, a multi-national
tactic group, will also be more extensive than in previous years. The Marines
and the special forces from Ukraine, the USA, Moldova and Georgia will conduct
stabilization activities during the operation in the crisis region to NATO
standards in the Nikolaev region and in the south of the Odessa region. The
coastal component of the exercises will carry out both the sea and air landing
in different areas of the Odessa region.
