1- Donbass Life, Editorial/Unacceptable scenario: Fail of Minsk-2 would lead to a war which will spread to Europe (VIDEO)

Tuesday, August 23, 2016 - 14:16, DONi Donbass International News Agency https://dninews.com (Donbass)

On 19 August 2016, the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) organised an international round table on the theme: "The life of the Republic: socio-political and socio-economical aspects."
Representatives of various civil movements, MPs and ministers of LPR attended it, along with
representatives of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Crimea, the Russian Federation, and also international observers and journalists from Finland, Austria, Italy and France.

Igor Plotnitsky, President of LPR, opened the round table, always marked by the attempted attack against him which occurred earlier this month, but standing and determined in his speech. He said that the 2014 referendum clearly marked that Donbass is a part of the Russian world, and that nothing and nobody can change that. This view was also shared by Vladimir Gvozdik, from the Crimean delegation.

He also gave an update on the status of the current situation in the LPR. There is still a lot of work to do, but many homes, schools, infrastructure, roads, factories were restored. And thanks to that, most of the inhabitants of the Republic have returned. At the date of the conference, 95% of pre-war residents are present in the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic.

Plotnitsky also stressed that there is no alternative to Minsk-2 in terms of peaceful settlement of the conflict, and regretted that for the moment the peace process is completely stopped. This led the LPR to ask to Kiev if they really wanted the territory of Donbass and its people, or if they were only interested by the territory.
Vladimir Degtyarenko, the Speaker of LPR Parliament, said just after that the fact that Ukraine deprives Donbass people of papers (passports, birth and marriage certificates, etc.) demonstrated clearly that it does not consider the inhabitants of both Peoples Republic as Ukrainians.

Because as stated Vladislav Deynego, Vice President of the LPR Parliament, "The only alternative to the Minsk process, it is war. Not a civil war here, but a war that will spread in Europe, and will affect European countries. And to consider this scenario as an alternative is absolutely unacceptable."

This is why many stakeholders appealed to European countries, the international community, the OSCE, and even the United Nations, to put pressure on Kiev to resume discussions in a constructive way. The authorities, as well as the citizens of both People's Republics, want peace and a victory obtained by the political means and not by weapons.

Because as stated Denis Pushilin, Speaker of Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Parliament, at each Ukrainian soldier who dies, the gap between the Ukrainian people and the citizens of the two young republics dig a little deeper, and Ukrainian people, already crammed with anti DPR and LPR propaganda, will oppose increasingly to the two republics.

Foreign observers emphasized the importance of these agreements, and on the terrorist aspect of Kiev actions in Donbass. Alfred Almeder, an Austrian observer, and Janus Putkonen, Director of DONi News Agency, recalled the importance to inform the European people about what is happening here. Because only a massive popular support for the peace here could bow western governments, like the United States during the Vietnam War.

Besides, Sergey Panteleev, director of the Institute of overseas Russians, highlighted a strange paradox: it is here in Donbass, that the true European values are defended, and this is why more and more European representatives come here. He also gave advice to the two young republics to learn from South Ossetia and Abkhazia, which have experienced similar problems, and if Minsk does not work finally, then they will have to continue building a state here in the People's Republics.

The second part of the round table focused precisely on these points. Vladimir Degtyarenko recalled that unlike the Kiev authorities which are illegal because they are coming from a coup, the authorities of the two young republics are the result of a referendum which international observers attended, followed by an election, and are thus legitimate. The Minister of Justice has then indicated that the primaries law in the LPR is ready, and the electoral process could continue as planned.

The legitimacy of the two People's Republics' authorities was confirmed by the President of the South Ossetian Parliament, Anatoly Bibilov. This explains why South Ossetia officially recognises the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and a treaty of economic and financial cooperation will be signed between the three republics. But South Ossetia will not stop there, and Bibilov said that his country is ready to assist the two young republics in all possible ways, including militarily. For him, Ukraine, like Georgia are terrorist states.

Besides, the lack of international recognition is not a major problem, as highlighted an economic expert, because Russia is an ally of both republics and a strong ally. And as stated Denis Pushilin, non-recognition of the two young republics will not last forever, and if it does not work one way, the authorities of the People's Republics will try others until one of them works. And LPR as well as DPR have now a much better potential for economic but also democratic development than Ukraine.

In conclusion, as stated by Denis Miroshnichenko, one wonders how the Ukrainian mass media will present this conference of so-called "terrorists" promoting the implementation of a peace agreement.

4- Pushylin offers Kiev to start implementing Minsk-2 now, but not after 5 years as it’s planned there

Tuesday, August 23, 2016 - 18:21, DONi Donbass International News Agency https://dninews.com (Donbass)

The Ukrainian government should start implementing the Minsk Agreements on peacefully settling the conflict in Donbass and not to postpone this process for five years.
It has been pointed out by the DPR Delegation Head to the Contact Group negotiations Denis Pushylin.
Earlier today the Ukrainian representative to the work group on the security issues Evgeniy Marchuk stated that the elections holding in Donbass (it is one of the Minsk-2 key points) was impossible at present. According to him, it is necessary for this that four or five years pass. The longer, the better,’ pointed out Marchuk.
“‘It is a further Ukrainian side attempt to delay the negotiation process. In the Complex of Measures there are written the things in black and white to adopt a law on elections, on the special status, on the amnesty and on amending the Ukrainian Constitution, coordinated with the DPR and LPR representatives and to hold the elections, meeting Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights OSCE standards,’ reminded Pushylin.”
He added that to achieve peace it is necessary not to twist, not to interpret in own way but to implement the Complex of Measures items bit by bit.

5- Kiev to sue Russia? How about Crimea asks compensation for '20 years of looting'

Tuesday, August 23, 2016 - 15:56, DONi Donbass International News Agency https://dninews.com (Donbass)
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry's is talking about filing a lawsuit against Russia over suspected violations of international maritime law in Crimea. In response, Crimean authorities suggest that maybe it's time they file charges of their own against Kiev from when the peninsula was part of Ukraine for what they say amounts to "20 years of plunder."
On Monday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin promised that Ukraine would soon be lodging a claim with international courts over supposed Russian violations of the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea in Crimean territorial waters, the Black and Azov seas and the Kerch Strait, as well as "rights to natural resources of the continental shelf", reports Sputnik.
Ukrainian officials have been making statements about filing lawsuits against Russia in international courts for months, with Klimkin repeating only two weeks ago that the Foreign Ministry had completed its preparations for arbitration with Russia on the issue of sovereign sea rights surrounding the Crimean Peninsula.

6- Europe turns blind eye to Kiev regime’s war crimes in Donbass
Tuesday, August 23, 2016 - 15:39, DONi Donbass International News Agency https://dninews.com (Donbass)

The European institutes have once again shown their unwillingness to help with the solution of the conflict in Donbass provoked by the US and European political leadership, writes in Izvestiya (‘News’) Vitaly Zakharchenko, the chairman of the Yugo-Vostok charity foundation, the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs in 2011-2014.

"The terrorist war against their own people has been waged for more than two years already, civilians of the Donbass cities and localities perish every day, the infrastructure is in collapse, schools, kindergartens, houses of my fellow countrymen are being destroyed. And all this is going on in the center of Europe – with complete connivance and encouragement from the western authorities. Violating its own legal principles, Europe does not want to see crimes of the Kiev regime. And therefore for all the crimes including the military ones committed in Ukraine today, should also bear responsibility the western politicians who hadn’t only brought to power in my country the politicians who started massacre in Donbass but also continue to support them, to sponsor and to cover their crimes by all means," notes the politician.”

The former head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that recently the ECHR has refused to consider the complaints of the Ukrainian citizens for violations of the European convention on human rights during a large-scale military operation. At that the European court proved its position by the absence of documents for the real estate which had been destroyed or damaged during the military operations, and didn’t mention at all the more essential violations in the ECHR human rights field.

“"Thus, the Europeans have once again shown their unwillingness to assist the solution of the conflict in Donbass provoked by the USA and the European states’ political leadership. At the same time the cynical refusal to consider the claims of Donbass residents shows the presence of serious problems in the international institutes and organizations’ work. The problems requiring cardinal solutions. There is a resistant impression that the European court tries to excuse under any formal pretext those who commit terrible crimes against Donbass civilians. Thus, supporting the legal lawlessness in Ukraine, the ECHR itself takes the criminals’ part," emphasizes Zakharchenko.”

“"The criminals are screened so that a few years later there could be made another false confession to the world community that, so to say, "we were mistaken", "after all the convention was violated in Donbass…" The ritual of such "justifications" is already perfected: it used to take place already when the truth surfaced how the decision on Great Britain’s participation in the war in Iraq had been made; or when the International tribunal on the former Yugoslavia finally cleared the perished in prison Slobodan Milosevic of charges for committing war crimes during the war in 1992-1995. This time it will be the same. And for now Europe gives the so-called go-by to the crimes committed by the Kiev authorities against Donbass civilians," summarizes the politician.”

7- Protest in support of Donbass republics, resistance against fascism in Ukraine to be held in London, September 29
Tuesday, August 23, 2016 - 15:12, DONi Donbass International News Agency https://dninews.com (Donbass)

The British and other NATO countries actively backed the ‘Euromaidan’ movement and the illegal coup of February 2014, which saw openly fascist, anti-semitic, extremely violent Nazi groups led by the Right Sector become part of the government, and later the entire state structure. This is the first time since 1945 that fascists have been able to take positions of state power in a European state.
Since then we have seen the Odessa Trade Union House fire in May 2014, in which at least 50 people were murdered; trade union and opposition party offices ransacked and burned; the Communist Party of Ukraine declared illegal; widespread attacks on communists, socialists, Jewish and gay people; members of the judiciary intimidated; thousands arrested for 'seperatism' and sent to secret prisons run by the Security Service of Ukraine, and continuing disappearances and murders of opposition activists and journalists.
The British government has sent 100 military trainers to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and has sponsored ‘educational’ activities aimed at sanitising the WW2 fascist leaders who collaborated with Nazi Germany in the genocide of 5-7 million people, a quarter of Ukraine's population including 1.5 million jews, and the deportation of two million people to Germany.

The New Communist Party will be calling for:
Justice for the Odessa Trade Union House Fire victims!
End the far right reign of terror in Ukraine!
End British military and other aid to the illegal Ukraine government
Implement the Minsk 2 Accords, bring peace to Ukraine
Solidarity with people of the Lugansk and Donetsk Republics
Solidarity with anti-fascists in Ukraine
The protest is organised by the New Communist Party with support from Solidarity with the Anti-Fascist Resistance in Ukraine which will take place at the Ministry of Defence, Whitehall (near the Cenotaph), Thursday 29 September 5.30-7pm.
The New Communist Party urges everyone who supports the resistance against fascism in Ukraine to support this protest.

8- Donetsk Defence: Situation Report, 23.08.2016
Tuesday, August 23, 2016 - 14:43, DONi Donbass International News Agency https://dninews.com (Donbass)
The situation in the Donetsk People's Republic remains tense. Over the past day the Ukrainian punishers violated the ceasefire regime 290 times.
The enemy keeps using artillery for shelling the Republic's territory. In total there were launched 10 artillery projectiles of 122mm calibre, and 251 shells of 82mm and 120mm calibre. Besides, the enemy opened fire from infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms.

The war criminals Zabolotny, Zubanich and Delyatitsky gave orders to open fire at the Republic’s localities with a purpose to exterminate the civilian population. Over the past day there were shelled such localities as Vasilievka, Yasinovataya, Spartak, Aleksandrovka, Sakhanka and Bezymennoye.
Eight houses sustained damage in Kominternovo and in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk as a result of the shellings by the Ukrainian punoshers over the past day.
The losses among the DPR People’s Militia made one killed and two wounded.
We have registered movement of the AFU equipment forbidden by the Minsk Agreements near the contact line.
- Near Novgorodskoye (6 km away from the contact line) there were detected three units of MRLS ‘Grad’;
- In Novotroitskoye (6 km away from the contact line) there was detected the arrival of four 120mm mortars;
- In Konstantinovka (25 km away from the contact line) there was detected the arrival of nine 122mm motorized howitzers ‘Giatsint’.
We continue noting enemy’s air reconnaissance conducted with application of the UAVs. Along the whole contact line there were registered the UAVs carrying out fire adjustment for artillery units and taking pictures of civil infrastructure objects.
All the data on violations of the Minsk Agreements were passed to the OSCE and JCCC representatives.

In connection with the OSCE Deputy Head A. Hug’s work in the Republic during the past two days there was noted a decrease tendency in the number of the AFU shellings. But this decrease doesn’t remove responsibility for the punishers’ criminal actions. Overnight to August 23 the kindergarten №94 was partially destroyed as a result of a direct artillery shell-hit in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk. The tragedy was avoided thanks to the absence of children and personnel in the kindergarten in the nighttime. Thus, we again observe the true face of Ukrainian soldiers, who occupy schools and conduct accurate fire at kindergartens on the eve of a school year.
Amid the relative decrease in the AFU shellings’ number there is registered stepping up of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces on carrying out diversions on the Republic’s vital infrastructure facilities. So, yesterday the main communication lines of MTS and Phoenix mobile network operators were damaged in the Petrovsky, Kuibyshevsky, Voroshilovsky districts of Donetsk city, the localities of Yelenovka and Dokuchayevsk as a result of a diversion carried out by them.
Thus, the military and political leadership of Ukraine purposefully pursues the policy of forcing the situation in Donbass, drawing special operations forces into destruction of vital infrastructure facilities.
