Iranian MPs to Attend 128th IPU Meeting in Ecuador

Tehran (FNA)- A group of Iranian parliamentarians is slated to pay a visit to Ecuador to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting later this month.

Secretary-General of Iran's Inter-Parliamentary Group Moayed Hosseini Sadr and his accompanying delegation are due to arrive in Quito later this week to attend the 128th IPU meeting slated for March 22-27.
Lawmakers from 120 world countries will discuss political, economic and social topics at the IPU's General Assembly meeting.
The IPU legislators will also discuss the role of parliaments in protecting the lives of the civilians, fair trade and innovative mechanisms for achieving the goal of sustainable development as well as the role of media within the format of three specialized committees.
The IPU, established in 1889, is the oldest multilateral political organization. It brings together 155 affiliated parliaments and eight regional assemblies as associate members.
